The Awning is 4m wide with a 2m projection and can be automatically operated using the Sun & Wind Senor.

Just a note to say how delighted I am with the new awning with automatic control over sun and wind! No more hand winding and peace of mind as the awning will protect the furnishings.

The team who came to take the old awning down and put up the new one did a stirling job.

Commonly, when installing on bungalows we use spreader plates to bring the fixings away from the top course of bricks.

Awnings are quite heavy and can create a lot of leverage when the wind blows under them. If you mount the Awning into top courses of bricks the bricks are likely to lift or pull away from the mortar. As long as you have 5 courses of bricks above the fixing position then you should be fine to mount the Awning. Spreader plates simply remove the need for fixing into the top bricks and brings several fixings down the wall into stronger brickwork.

This is a full cassette Awning that has a width of 4m and a projection of 2m. The images were taken prior to the electric being finalised and as such, the cable you see on the right would no longer be present.

This Awning consists of two, full cassette Awnings mounted back to back. In this instance they are both 6m x 2.5 which gives a total coverage of 30 square metres. As well as Freestanding Awnings, sometimes people refer to this type of Awning as a Twinns or Butterfly Awning.

As well as the large are of cover these Awnings provide, the other advantage is they are totally independent on any other structure. This makes the Freestanding Awning the ideal choice for those that have buildings without the structural support that a heavy Awning requires and also perfect for those looking to provide shade and cover for areas that doesn’t have a building right next to it.

Whilst this Freestanding Awning has been installed at a residential dwelling, commonly these types of Awning are used for nurseries and schools to provide large areas of sun protection over children’s play areas. Commonly they are also used by pubs and restaurants to provide outdoor dining or smoking areas.

As well as just the Veranda roof, there is a also a fully retractable electric zip screen mounted to the side. Zip screens provide protection from the sun as well as wind and at the same time offers excellent privacy.

The Zip Screen is operated via a remote control though also comes with a sensor that can automatically lower or raise the screen depending on your requirements. There is also a patio heater that will maintain a comfortable temperature no matter how chilly it get.

Zip Screens are a great addition to any Veranda as they still allow light to pass yet stop wind and excess heat. They can also commonly installed on windows to keep rooms cool and furnishings protected. Being external, the screens are far more effective at heat reduction than internal blinds.

The triangular shape that the lean-to roof creates is filled in with and aluminium frame holding matching polycarbonate. It is always totally optional as to whether you want the triangular gable installed though it makes sense when blocking off one end.
