This is an installation of a very vibrantly coloured cross arm electric Sun Awning. Cross arm Sun Awnings allow you have a larger projection with a smaller width. In this example the awning width is 3.5m but it has a 4m projection. This is great for getting maximum shade with a small width.

Here is a custom made Cross Arm Patio Sun Awning that was installed in June 2010 in the Gloucestershire area.

Usually with any Patio Awning,  the amount that the Awning can project is restricted by the width. With a Cross Arm Awning you are able to have a projection large that the width thanks to the way the arms cross one another when closed.

The Awning below had a width of 3m as this is the maximum width that could have fitted.  Had this not been a Cross Arm Awning the maximum projection that could be achieved would be 2.5m.  As the Cross Arm Awning was utilised, the projection was made to 3.5m. This will give a large area of shade and shelter.
